Tim was the inaugural Chief Executive of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), a fully integrated economic development agency. Tim has first-hand experience of leading trade and economic development agencies, including driving the development and implementation of ground-breaking export promotion strategies and services which enabled NZTE to be internationally recognised as the “Best of the Best” by the World Trade Promotion Forum in 2008. Tim also spent many years in senior roles in the New Zealand Dairy Industry in New Zealand, Asia and Europe.

He also has experience advising government and public sector bodies on economic and regulatory issues.

Mike also works with a wide range of government departments on strategies, programmes and structures relating to Māori economic development. He has previously carried out the acting Chief Executive role for the New Zealand Māori Tourism Council and prior to this establishing Tuia Consulting (precursor to Tuia Group);
